Demonstrations have continued across the country one week after George Zimmerman was acquitted of criminal charges for killing Trayvon Martin.

Protests on Oakland, Calif. have included smashed windows and other damage. On Saturday, July 20, 2013 a rally was held at the downtown federal building to call for federal charges in the case. Non-violence was stressed. Mayor Jean Quan attended. She has been criticized including how police responded to Occupy Oakland demonstrations last year, with others bringing up Alan Blueford, who was killed by Oakland police in 2012. Here’s a video I made of the event.
